Summertime
It's about 6:30 and the house is so peaceful right now. Aaron should be home soon, but for now it's just me, the fan and the sound of people cutting their grass. It has been another great day, my house is clean and Hannah looks so precious napping on the couch. Ellen took her pictures today. It was really pretty out, but the heat was sweltering! Hannah's little face was red, but I think it'll look fine in black and white. It has cooled off a bit and it's a really nice evening. I'm thinking about going out on the back deck and closing my eyes, but Hannah can usually sense when I engage in that sort of activity, or lack there of :) I made it to the gym again today YAY! I can feel my energy level going up, which was my biggest complaint aside from the size of my butt. Eating good is challenging in the summer with all of the grill outs and I tend to drink more in the summer too. Something about the heat and all the daylight just does it! Aaron has been working a lot of hours lately, but it has paid off and he's still really loving his job. He is doing so well at work and he gets an enormous amount of positive feedback which is hard to come by in most work places! Hannah and I have been keeping busy which keeps me happy. I love that we've finally found some good people with children to spend time with, it's healthy for all of us. It really helps fill that void of not having my family here, so I'm extra thankful for the days and evenings we've been spending with friends. :) Between the YMCA, daycare, church and BBQ's with, Hannah is getting lots of time with other kids and has created friendships which makes me happy beyond words. Well, everyone enjoy their evening, I think there's a cold glass of wine with my name on it and dinner to be made!!!! LOVE TO ALL!!!

It is easier to get forgiveness than permission!!! Words to live by!!!
Wow! What a weekend! I feel like summer has officially been kicked off and I'm lovin' it! Went to the gym again today and can't wait to get back which is a good sign! I really enjoy the YMCA and can't wait for the fall when Hannah turns 3 and can participate in more things. Speaking of Hannah, boy did we pull one over on the Y today! HAHA...
So, the nursery consists of 2 rooms: one for infants, one for toddlers. In addition, they just added a whole new room with one of those big huge play things with tunnels and slides like the ones you see at McDonalds and Chik-Fil-A which Hannah loves! Hannah does great on playgrounds, I don't worry with her at all. Well, last week I took her in and made the mistake of asking the girl how old she had to be to go in that area. She says "Three." No exceptions, she just has to be three. Well, keep in mind that this room of joy is adjacent to the lame ass toddler room that's no bigger than my bedroom. Hannah cried her eyes out when I left her, which I hate for her. Bringing us to today. Today I passed right by the toddler room and walked her into the awesome room. She immediately ran for the enormous toy dropping her shoes in the cubbies first. I casually filled her out a big girl 3 year old yellow form (2 year olds are blue) and put her birthday as 2 days ago. Yeah, you could call us a couple of stunt pullers, but I say I'm a smart mom who knows her child. Hannah had a great time and I had a great workout knowing she was happy :) I will say that when I came to get her it took some work to get her to come down so we could leave. I was giving her the "your supposed to be 3, don't give us away!" look which I think she caught and when she wanted to put her shoes on by herself on the wrong feet I of course did not argue, as all three year olds put on their own shoes, right?

Magic Panties and heart monitors...
I have been to the gym three times this week. That's right, THREE. That's three more times than any other week in the past 6 months. I don't know what it is with me, I love being at the gym. I love the workouts, I love being sore, I love getting some "me" time so why do I have such a hard time actually leaving my house to go there? I used to be in such great shape, but these days I'm really feeling like a mom! I don't want to have to wear Magic Panties with slinky dresses the rest of my life. You know, the panties that are two feet long and keep your stomach in? Yep, I own a pair, bought them a few months after I had Hannah never intending to use them more than that one time. But their black, so they're sexy. Riiiiiiigghht...
Hannah has been in daycare the past two days and I've missed her. She goes every Thursday and Friday, so we cuddle a lot on Friday nights :). It's actually Little Embers Day School, which I think "school" is more appropriate given all she has learned there. She really enjoys going and getting that interaction and come Wednesday night I'm ready for her to go, so it's works out good for all of us! She's been so honory, defiant and TWO lately. She is also not to be trusted---ever, no matter how safe it seems. She colored her nose the other day. With an orange highlighter. What in the world would posess her to color her nose? I'm talking the whole thing. Nostrils, bridge, tip and a little on her cheeks. She also colored on the t.v. the other day...again. I quickly removed all the blue crayon and we agreed to just keep it between us. Daddy gets a little protective of the ol' Sony Bravia. So back to her being a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad girl. If I didn't know any better I'd just assume she's deaf and feel bad for her, but no, she hears me. We are working on "Stop!". As in when she's running out her daycare door into the parking lot, or she's riding her bigwheel down our street at a speed I can't catch without ditching my flip flops and breaking out into a full on sprint. Yep, it happened and she's never been in more trouble in her life. She made it 7 houses down before I caught her and instructed her to RUN home. I don't know if I was more mad that she was heading toward the danger of a main road or that she forced me to run with my butt crack exposed in my falling jeans and be reminded by my heart rate just how out of shape I am.
And that brings us back to the gym. :)

Here I go!
Welcome to my blog! I used to pick up a pencil often, but as I've gotten older I find less time to do that. I find writing very therapeutic, which I am in dire need of these days! Anyone who has spent 5 minutes with me knows I can talk so lookie, I found somewhere I can talk more! Having so many miles between us and my family is hard and maybe this will help close that gap even if for only the few minutes they take to read my blogging on daily life here at the Leicht house :)
